Interpreting means transferring a verbal message from one language into another. It may perhaps be
\nlikened to spoken translation.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

There are several types of interpreting. Simultaneous interpreting<\/strong> draws on considerable skill and
\nexperience. Much in demand at conferences, it requires equipment (booth, headphones and
\nearphones). Consecutive interpreting<\/strong> is required for small teams whereas liaison interpreting<\/strong> is used
\nduring commercial negotiations. Finally, whispered<\/strong> interpreting is a form of interpreting where the interpreter literally simultaneously whispers the interpretation into the client’s ear.<\/p>\n

It receives little publicity, but interpreting is widely used by companies working with neighbouring
\ncountries. This interpreting service<\/strong> enables our clients to work directly with their customers and is
\nvery useful for events, visits and business relationships.<\/strong> Companies wanting to advance into foreign<\/strong>

    Interpreting maximises and eases communication by overcoming the language barrier<\/strong>. This type of
    \nservice enables you, in particular, to negotiate partnerships easily and sign contracts<\/strong> while avoiding
    \nany misunderstandings.<\/p>\n

    Consecutive interpreting<\/h2>\n

    Consecutive interpreting<\/strong> enables listeners to hear what has just been said in another language.
    \nDuring this process, the interpreter listens, takes notes and then structures what has just been said,
    \nreproducing this in its entirety in the other language.
    \nThe time taken between hearing and relaying<\/strong> the message varies (from 2 minutes to 30 minutes). In
    \npractice, interpreters<\/strong> take their turn to speak every 5 to 10 minutes in order to retain the rhythm and
    \nstructure of the speech.<\/p>\n

    Liaison interpreting and whispered interpreting<\/h2>\n

    Liaison interpreting<\/strong> is a sort of consecutive interpreting often used<\/p>\n

    during meetings or appointments. The interpreter<\/strong><\/p>\n

    must prepare the subject in advance so they can interact with their client or even defend their
    \ninterests. They use all their skills to facilitate communication<\/strong> between several parties.<\/p>\n

    Whispered interpreting<\/strong> is a type of liaison interpreting. During whispered interpreting<\/strong>, the
    \ninterpreter whispers their interpretation for their small number of listeners. This requires an
    \ninterpreter to be completely at ease in both languages so that they can produce a refined and natural
    \ninterpretation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Simultaneous interpreting<\/h2>\n

    We do not offer this service at Dialinguo<\/strong> although we can recommend interpreters to you who
    \nspecialise in this.<\/p>\n

    Simultaneous interpreting<\/strong> requires specific sound equipment and a certain infrastructure. It is
    \nperformed in a windowed sound-proof booth where the interpreter<\/strong> sits and hears the words spoken
    \nby the conference speaker through their headset. They then simultaneously relay the speaker’s words into a microphone in the other language. We call this simultaneous interpreting<\/strong> because the
    \ngap between hearing the speech and relaying<\/strong> the message is very short (5 to 10 seconds). In this
    \nway, listeners hear the interpretation through their headphones in their desired language (several
    \ninterpreters work at the same time in their respective languages). Simultaneous interpreting<\/strong> is really
    \nhelpful during important speeches and enables real-time understanding as well as interaction.<\/p>\n<\/div>
